The mission of the Church of God Sanctuary of Praise is to make Christ’s last commandment as recorded in Matthew 28:19, our F.I.R.S.T. commitment, through:

The Church of God Sanctuary of Praise is a Spirit-filled body of believers, composed of many members, who are actively sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ by ministering to the needs of the nearly 1 million people in Jacksonville, Florida.

Our Leaders
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-13)

How much you get out of a ministry is directly proportionate to and/or impacted by how much you give of yourself. At SOP, we have many opportunities for you to use your gifts, talents, wealth, knowledge, and/or time to glorify God and benefit others. Each church ministry falls into one of the below categories...
Worship
Through excellence in preparation, these ministries help us to provide weekly worship opportunities designed to lift up the name of Jesus to a diverse population, engaging worshippers of all age groups in the liberating fullness of God’s presence.
Community Outreach
These ministries help us to reach our goal of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through showing acts of kindness and benevolence throughout our community.
Spiritual Development
These ministries help us to ensure Christian discipleship and ministerial development through Christian Education programs that emphasize personal and corporate Bible study , ministerial training, and spiritual development for all believers.
Our History
Established in 1909, the Church of God Sanctuary of Praise was originally known as the Church of God Auditorium. Located on the corner of Steele Street and Blue Avenue, it has been a bastion of Christian worship and discipleship in Jacksonville, Florida for over 100 years. In 1991, our church family dedicated our new worship facilities on Soutel Drive. In our endeavor to make Christ known in all the world, our vision and mission compels us to make serving our community our first priority.
